Mumbai: Serial molestor masturbated at another girl after targeting Powai college girl
During the search operation, cops found that that Deodhare was earlier arrested by Govandi Police but released on bail on a cash bond.
The 27-year-old serial molester, arrested for allegedly stalking and flashing his private parts in front of three college girls on July 13 in Powai was reportedly caught doing the same act at another place in the city.
The accused, identified as Kishore Deodhare, flashed at a teenager in Powai and then followed her but fled the spot when she raised an alarm. But Deodhare didn't stop there. He went looking for another victim in Chembur and on pretext of asking the time, he flashed at another girl.
On noticing what the man was up to, the girl ran from the place only to be followed by Deodhare till her residential locality. He was put behind bars after which the girl raised an alarm and people from the locality nabbed Deodhare and handed him over to Govandi police.
On July 13, the teenage victim and her friends were returning home from their college in Hiranandani Gardens area of Powai when Deodhare reportedly followed them on his bike and masturbated at them. Ignoring the accused's advances, the girls started moving towards their residence but Deodhare kept following them after which the victim raised an alarm and called for help from locals. However, Deodhare managed to flee from the spot.
The victim called the police control room (PCR) after which two policemen were immediately sent to the spot. They, however, asked the girl to go home. The complaint was registered only after the media brought the issue to limelight. Following the statement of the victim, cops managed to pull out grabs from Eternia building in Hiranandani Gardens.
With the help of the footage, cops began a search operation and found that that Deodhare was arrested by Govandi Police but released on bail on a cash bond. His cell tower location helped find that he was near Deonar.
Deodhare has around eleven cases of molestation, outraging modesty of women registered against him at DN Nagar, Dindoshi, Goregaon, Govandi, Kandivli, Parksite, Powai and Vikhroli police stations.
The Powai police has also added sections of stalking and IT Act so that Deodhare could be booked in a case with stronger sections as obscene clips and pictures were found in Deodhare's phone.
"The accused is a habitual offender and there are a large number of cases against him for similar offences registered across Mumbai. He revealed during the interrogation that he would target girls who were alone and would do this as a pass time. Stringent sections have been added in the case so that he does not go scot free," said DCP N Reddy.
