Stalin has said that the ruling AIADMK in Tamil Nadu is only focussed on safeguarding its government, and because of this, reforms have been put on the backburner.

Stalin has alleged that Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami is not bothered about solving Tamil Nadu's drinking water or irrigation problems, which are expected to worsen in the future.

Meanwhile, the AIADMK has argued that the Tamil Nadu government has already released Rs 100 crore to ease the state's drinking water shortage.

With temperatures reaching up to 44 degrees Celsius, and cyclone Vardaah almost wiping Chennai's green cover, the state is likely to witness hot days ahead.
