A day ahead of the MCD election 2017, Swaraj India leader Yogendra Yadav has accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of betraying the trust of the people of the city.

Yogendra Yadav also sought Arvind Kejriwal's resignation "if the AAP fails to win 136 (50 per cent) seats" in the MCD elections.

Writing a letter to his former India Against Corruption colleague, Yogendra Yadav said, "You have broken the trust of the people of Delhi," before adding, "Following your betrayal, the public has lost faith in its own capability to distinguish good from bad."

Yogendra Yadav further said,"I am compelled to say that due to your ego, self-centrism and lust for chair, you have committed this crime."

WHAT ELSE YOGENDRA YADAV SAID: THINGS TO KNOW
  1. Yogendra Yadav said, "The mandate that people of Delhi gave two years ago was not a charisma of one leader or one party. The sacrifices of thousands of volunteers brought that change. But, the real cause of the charisma was the moral force of the people of Delhi."
  2. Recalling the public sentiment during the anti-corruption movement, Yogendra Yadav wrote, "The Janlokpal Movement had given the people of Delhi the faith that they were not hapless. They believed that they were more powerful than the leaders, the parties and governments."
  3. "I see that moral force weakening now-a-days. This is why I am communicating with you for the first time in two years and making you recall your promise made from the Ramlila Grounds," Yogendra Yadav said.
  4. Yogendra Yadav further said, there are mounds of garbage all across Delhi. The filthy water is stagnated. Air is stinky and dangerous. Everyone knows that the BJP has been ruling the MCD for past 10 years. Still, the BJP is seeking vote almost shamelessly in the MCD election. After much deliberation, I have concluded that you are personally responsible for this accident."
  5. There are many voters, who voted for the historic change in 2015, but this time they are going back to the BJP, Yogendra Yadav said.
  6. Yogendra Yadav has said that Arvind Kejriwal has turned the MCD election 2017 into a referendum on his popularity. "You have repeatedly said that the people of Delhi are with you. You have turned the tomorrow's MCD election into a referendum on your personal popularity."
  7. "Your party is seeking votes only in your name. Hoardings don't even have the name of the party. Your party has released an internal survey claiming that your party is winning 218 seats in the MCD election," Yogendra Yadav writes to Arvind Kejriwal.
  8. Yogendra Yadav said that if AAP fails to win majority in the three MCDs, Arvind Kejriwal should resign as Chief Minister of Delhi. "If you lose in this referendum two years after securing 67 of 70 seats in Delhi, you must not make an excuse of (faulty) EVM and resign from the post of Chief Minister, and following the principle of 'recall', seek fresh mandate from the people of Delhi," Yogendra Yadav said.
  9. The Swaraj India leader also said, "If you get majority in the three MCDs (that is, 137 seats only), I will admit that my understanding is wrong and that people of Delhi don't consider you a betrayer. In that situation, if the central government conspires against you, my party and I will support you."
