In Netherlands for a UN talk, Mamata Banerjee will miss two big meetings this week
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will not be attending the Opposition parties meeting in Delhi and all-party meeting in Siliguri.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee will not be attending the Opposition parties meeting in Delhi on June 22 to decide the presidential candidate.
Trinamool Congress would be represented by Rajya Sabha MP Derek O Brien as Banerjee is in Netherlands to receive the prestigious UN Public Service award on UN Public Service Day on June 23.
The chief minister will also be missing the crucial all-party meet in Siliguri called by the state to discuss the ongoing crisis in Darjeeling. The left and Congress have said that they will not take part in the meeting if the CM is not attending it.
The Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA on Monday announced Dalit leader Ram Nath Kovind as the presidential candidate. The furious Opposition decided to announce their own candidate against him and is hence planning to conduct a meeting on June 22.
