Mumbai: Opposition boycotts CM Fadnavis's tea party, says govt has failed to solve farmers' issues
The united Opposition-led by Radhakrishna Vikhepatil and Dhananjay Munde said that Fadnavis govt had failed to solve the problems of farmers and reservation issue of Muslims and Marathas.
On the eve of Maharashtra Assembly's Budgetary session, united Opposition took a call to boycott CM Devendra Fadnavis's tea party. The united Opposition-led by Radhakrishna Vikhepatil and Dhananjay Munde addressed a press conference in Mumbai and said that Fadnavis govt had failed to solve the problems of farmers and reservation issue of Muslims and Marathas.
"Today, we are meeting honorable Governor to discuss the issue of loan waiver of farmers. This govt totally failed to give justice to farmers. Thus, we are going to ask Governor to look into this matter, " said Radhakrishna Vikhepatil, LOP.
Opposition is planning to corner govt over farmers' loan waiver. Due to demonetization, rate of cotton and onion has gone down which has affected farmers a lot. They also alleged that there is proper no law and order in the state. Also govt is not taking any concrete steps on the issue of Maratha and Muslims reservation.
Govt's Jalyukt Shivar was another scam, almost Rs 4000cr was spent on it, but didn't get results accordingly.
" There was lot entertainment happened during BMC elections. Sena, BJP were fighting like Sena is going to break alliance, but it didn't happen. Both of them have fooled people and now even people have realised it. Thus, we are boycotting the tea party of failed govt, "said Dhananjay Munde.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has said that his government is farmers' issues.
"State government is serious about farmers' issue. We are not against loan waiver, but we will take decision at the right time. As we have seen in past, effects of bad implementation of loan waiver. We want to bring long term schemes for farmers, and not temporary. We are going to get solar feeder which will help farmers to get solar energy, " said Fadnavis.
