Station House Officer of Sewra Police station in Madhya Pradesh was caught on camera thrashing the head constable posted in the same police station.

The Sewra police station is about 70 km from the Datia district Head quarters.

The incident occurred on May 20 when SHO Mulayam Singh Yadav called head constable Bhogi Ram Jatav to his chamber. Jatav was not prompt in reacting to the SHO's call which enraged Yadav to such an extent that he went out of his room and started thrashing the head constable.

In the CCTV footage that has been accessed by India Today, Yadav is seen hitting Jatav with a stick, pushing him to the lock up of the police station.

According to sources in the police station Yadav trashed Jatav inside the lockup for almost half an hour.

India Today tried talking to Mulayam Singh Yadav but failed.

Bhogi Ram Jatav too refused to come on record saying senior police officers of the district has been apprised of the matter.

District SP Irshad Wali said a show cause notice has been served to Mulayam Singh Yadav and that action would be taken against him after he goes through the content of the CCTV footage.
