Madhya Pradesh: Man burnt to death for protesting molestation of daughter
Three persons entered the house of Narmada Sahu yesterday night allegedly to molest his daughter. When Sahu protested, he was burnt to death.
A man was allegedly burnt to death in Madhya Pradesh's Damoh district when he protested molestation of his daughter by three persons. The deceased was identified as Narmada Sahu of Hata area of Damoh.
The incident took place yesterday night. The accused were known to the family and lived in the neighbourhood. One of the accused, identified as Sachin, had allegedly been stalking and harassing the girl for past few months.
On August 15 this year, Narmada Sahu had lodged a police complaint against Sachin for eve teasing and harassing his daughter. According to the family of the deceased, the police did not take the case seriously, which emboldened the accused.
Sachin allegedly roped in two other accomplices, identified as Rajkumar and Ramkumar, to harass the family of Narmada Sahu. The family says the three accused became increasingly bold in their activities.
After giving threat on Saturday to the deceased family, the three accused turned up at their home on Sunday night, allegedly, with the intention to molest Narmada Sahu's daughter. But, he confronted the intruders.
Frustrated at the resistance shown by the 44-year-old man, the accused allegedly poured kerosene on him and put him to flames. The victim died during treatment at a hospital. Before breathing his last, Narmada lodged an FIR for attempt to murder.
After his death, the Damoh police converted the FIR into the case of murder. All the three accused are on the run. The police have launched a manhunt.
