Another horrifying incident has come to light where an attempt was made to kidnap a 21-year-old HR professional in Bengaluru. The victim had moved to the city a few months ago, and was staying at a hostel in Kormangala.

When she was waiting for a lift to take her to the fourth floor of her building, the woman alleged that a man came from behind grabbed her, tried to lift her and kidnap. The incident took place between 1:15 and 1:30 am fortnight ago.

"He held me extremely tight and grabbed me. Even as I screamed for help, he did not let me go. I held on to the grills of the lift that saved me. He punched my face thrice but I kept screaming for help", the victim said.

HERE IS ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW :
  1. As the victim was new to the city, she took help from her colleagues who urged her to file the complaint with the police. Based on her complaint, the police registered a case of assault of criminal force on a woman with the intention to outrage her modesty under Sections 354, 363, 392 and 511 of the Indian Penal Code.
  2. The victim has vacated the hostel because she was unable to recover from the shock. There were several lapses, including lack of CCTV cameras and the absence of a security guard from the hostel.
  3. The police is yet to make any breakthrough in the case.
  4. The victim alleges that the paying guest hostel owner raised questions on her character by telling the police that she used to come late everyday despite her work ending at 7:00 pm.
