  • The master of attack is supposedly based in Syria.

The NIA and Hyderabad Police, in a joint operation, busted an ISIS module detaining 11 terror suspects and foiling a possible terror attack. Five of the detained suspects have now been arrested.

According to a high level source, "This raid was conducted in time to prevent bloodshed and chaos."

PLAN TO HIT SENSITIVE SPOTS

The ISIS suspects had been on their radar, their phones legally tapped and their online activities were monitored. As per their phone conversations in the last two weeks, these youth were talking of a "planned attack." They were in advanced stage of planning to trigger bomb blasts at communally sensitive areas like Charminar, markets and malls, and even religious places in Hyderabad.

The module, independent of the previous modules of ISIS, was formed by youths between 20-25, which included graduates and computer engineers.

One of the phone intercepts recorded by intelligence agencies on June 26, Abdul Qadeer, a key suspect, is heard saying, "Arrange four buffaloes, cows each. Additional 7 cows should be arranged by June 27." Another accused ie heard saying, "Arrange 200 litres of hydrogen peroxide."

A source said, "We need to dig deeper, whether this was about consumption or did they have plans to use the cow and buffalo meat to trigger communal tension."

They were even heard saying, "Kaam ko anjaam dene ke liye tayaar hai hum."

All these legally tapped conversations will be used as evidence against the suspects.

Explosive experts sent to the raid spot stated that the explosive seized are of high quality.

SUSPECTS HIGHLY QUALIFIED

An official says they were planning something "big".

Among those detained is Mohammed Ibrahim Yajdhani, (29) a young software engineer, and his brother Mohammed Iliyas Yajdhani, (24), who is also a computer applications graduate. An NIA official said that members of the module were under watch for over four months.

The arrests were made from houses in Chandrayangutta, Mirchowk, Talabkatta, Bhavaninagar, and Mogalpura. The four who are likely to be arrested are Ibrahim, Hasib, Fahad, and Yasir. Officers found ammonium nitrate and hydrogen peroxide stored in the houses of these four youths. Five suspects were named in the FIR which was lodged on June 22. Many of the suspects were also training to shoot. An airgun and pellets were also recovered from one Rizwan. NIA believes the group members were doing practice.

'MASTER' OF THE MODULE OUT OF POLICE NET

The module seems to have been deciphered, but NIA is still to track the Master or "Sahab" who is suspected to be based in Syria. The agency believes they were given instructions from Sahab, who is yet to be identified. Meanwhile another important transaction of 5000 Dirham was sent by these terror suspects, likely to a location in Dubai. Investigation will also reveal, why was this money sent, and for whom.
