RLD chief Ajit Singh has said that if the RLD forms government in UP, his son Jayant Chowdhary will be the Chief Minister.

Talking to India Today, Ajit Singh said that the UP elections will decide the fate of Prime Minister Modi and his government as the Modi government is against the poor, farmers, Dalits, backwards and Muslims. "The Modi government came into power on the promise of employment generation for the youth of the country and all these promises have proved to be false as instead of ending unemployment, Modi government has only increased inflation," said RLD chief.

ACHHE DIN ONLY FOR MODI'S MINISTERS

He said that the Achhe Din are here only for Modi and his ministers, not for the common public, who are now demanding the old days back.

Commenting on the UP Government, Ajit Singh said that the law and order of this state has completely lost track and the youth in UP are finding it difficult to find jobs without paying large amounts of bribe. For an example, he said, 12 lakh rupees are being asked as bribe for the post of a Lekhpal. He said that it is a government belonging to just one family in UP, not a party, so the RLD will contest elections on the slogan "UP Bachao - Desh Bachao" (Save UP - Save the Country).

ELECTORAL ISSUES

He said that the BJP was planning to use the Kairana incident as its electoral issue whereas there has been no forced migration of Hindu families from Kairana. Some people have indeed left from there, but that is because they were seeking better future elsewhere, not because they were forced to leave. There is no dispute between Hindu and Muslim communities in Kairana, although the development of the area has stopped after the Muzaffarnagar riots.

He declined to comment on his party's stand towards forming a pre-poll alliance and said that RLD is not thinking on this issue right now, although it is clear from the present situation that there will be a coalition government forming in UP in 2017 and at that time, the RLD will reveal its stand. He said that he has not had any discussion about any alliance with the BJP or any other party.

BJP DOESN'T WANT A HIGH COURT IN WESTERN UP?

When he was asked about his stand on the demand for a high court bench in Agra, he skirted the original question and blamed the BJP and the SP claiming that these two parties do not want a high court bench in western UP.

He said that although his party welcomes the 7th Pay Commission, this will increase a load of almost 4-5 lakh crores on the tax payers. "It seems that the Modi government has come into power only to levy taxes after taxes on the people, while making its crony capitalist partners rich," said Singh.

Ajit Singh had arrived in the Jat-dominated Akola area of Agra to address a rally of his supporters.
