Jammu: Gujarati couple commit suicide in Katra hotel
The identity of the couple was ascertained after the police recovered their Aadhar cards.
A couple from Gujarat has committed suicide in Jammu and Kashmir's Katra on Friday. The deceased have been identified as Janvi Patel and Chintan Kumar.
The girl was a student of a private college in Nadiad, while the boy was resident of Kheda district of Gujarat.
Police said that the couple booked a room in the hotel in Katra a day ago. The couple hung themselves by the ceiling fans in the hotel room.
The identity of the couple was ascertained after the police recovered their Aadhar cards.
Meanwhile, the Katra Police have informed the Gujarat Police about the incident. Police said that a case of abduction has been filed against the boy.
