National carrier Air India and budget passenger carrier IndiGo today said they have decided to revoke the ban on flying TDP MP JC Diwakar Reddy on its flights.

"Senior IndiGo officials today met Honourable Member of Parliament Diwakar Reddy, at a lunch hosted by senior Member of Parliament YS Chaudhary, to resolve the issue of Honourable Member Diwakar Reddy's ban on IndiGo flights," the airline said in a statement.

"The issue is amicably resolved between the two and IndiGo has decided to lift the said ban with immediate effect and Reddy is withdrawing the case he has filed."

Earlier last month, JC Diwakar Reddy had wrecked a havoc at Vizag airport after he was denied a boarding pass on late arrival. He not only assaulted Indigo employees but also vandalised the airport in rage.

Reddy was scheduled to fly on IndiGo flight 6E-608, which departs from Visakhapatnam at 8.10 am, to Hyderabad. But he reached just 28 minutes before the scheduled departure, according to the airline. As per norms laid out by the aviation regulator, airlines close check-in counters for all domestic fights 45 minutes prior to departure.

A video obtained by India Today shows Reddy throwing a printer at the airport. In a separate video he is seen pushing an airline staff.

The political leader had earlier too created a ruckus in October 2016 in a similar incident where he arrived late at Vijayawada Airport.

Earlier this year, Shiv Sena MP Ravindra Gaikwad was temporarily banned by airlines from flying after he assaulted an Air India staffer, triggering a major controversy.
