It has been more than a week since Hurricane Maria wreaked havoc in Puerto Rico. Maria smashed poles and killed power lines and flooded electricity-generating plants.

Puerto Rico's health care system is suffering form the aftermath of Hurricane Maria as hospitals and clinics grapple with crippling losses of power, fuel and medical supplies.

Maria has left 3.4 million people in powerless Puerto Rico.

It is described as the strongest storm to strike the US territory in almost 90 years.

Hurricane Maria's strong winds ripped roofs off houses and uprooted trees on the Caribbean island and cutting power across the entire island.

Several people have come together to help the Puerto Ricans with supplies.
