Seven people including the bus conductor were injured when a powerful blast took place in a moving Haryana Roadways Chandigarh bound bus near Pipli, Kurukshetra on Thursday afternoon.

- "This was a low intensity improvised explosive device (IED). We have called ballistic experts. A battery used in the blast has been recovered," SP Kurukshetra Simardeep Singh said.
- Police sources said the bus was carrying more than two dozen people when the blast took place.
- The blast was powerful enough to shatter the window panes of Sonepat depot bus HR 69B-6340 which was about to reach Pipli near Kurukshetra when the IED exploded.
- The police has recovered a battery and a suspicious bag from the bus which seems to have been used to cause the blast. Sources said that the police has recovered a blue shirt and a cream pant from the bag.
- The police swung into action after the blast took place. The DGP K P Singh said that the blast was caused by a crude bomb. He also said that no terror link has been established so far.
- This is the third blast reported in Haryana during the past five months. Earlier blasts took place in passenger trains in Panipat in January and May respectively.
