Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray again criticised Modi govt for taking away credit of common man for slashed rates of GST.

After GST were tweaked yesterday, government had termed the slashed GST rates as Diwali gift.

Uddhav felt that's its people's victory as unrest amongst them forced government to take this decision.

After the GST meeting, the picture was portrayed as government has given the Diwali gift to people in the form of slashed rates, but it was anger in people which compelled government to slash these rates.

"There is no Lakshmi (cash) in people's pocket now as Govt has taken it all. People are worried how to do Lakshmi poojan during Diwali? It's good that govt reduced the GST charges, but see the social media how people are making fun of this GST," said Uddhav Thackeray.

He further said that these changes alone were not enough.

"People are still not happy, inflation is still up," he said, implying that the spiralling prices of essential commodities were burning a hole in the common man's pocket and that the Centre was doing little to address their concerns.

Uddhav also criticised state government over shortage of coal.

"What government has done in last 3 years about the coal issue? Power cuts across state should stopped immediately," he said. He further said that govt should also slash the rates of petrol & diesel as people have been angry about it.

"I am not an economist to make analysis of GST decision. I only know that people are not happy with taxes. Whether, we are in power or out of the power, we will always stay with people and fight for them." said Uddhav.

Meanwhile, Uddhav thanked Fadnavis government for resolving hawkers on railway bridges & anganwadi sevika issues. These two issues were raised by a Shiv Sena minister in a cabinet meeting.
