Green Park residents troubled due to nuisance created by pub-goers
Residents are afraid of untoward incidents during the night as the pubs at Hauz Khas village close post midnight. The pubgoers often, in an inebriated state, intrude into the residential area of Green Park playing loud music in their cars.

It feels good to imagine having a house near a happening nightspot, but the reality may be different for some. Residents of Green Park are now miffed over the nuisance pub-goers at Hauz Khas create on a regular basis. They have come together to find a solution and bring an end to this ongoing trouble.
NUISANCE
"Residents are afraid of untoward incidents during the night as the pubs at Hauz Khas village close post midnight. The pubgoers often, in an inebriated state, intrude into the residential area of Green Park playing loud music in their cars. They also break beer and liquor bottles inside our locality and dump garbage while driving past the area," said CS Goel, general secretary of Green Park RWA.
TRAFFIC PROBLEMS
The Hauz Khas village has over 40 night clubs operational on either side of the narrow lanes. As a result vehicles parked on the road create massive traffic problems. Moreover, the pub goers often park their cars inside the Green Park residential area creating a hurdle for the residents.
The three popular night clubs of Hauz Khas is situated adjacent to Aurobindo Marg that falls near the residential area of Green Park. "We used to close the gate connecting to Hauz Khas village road after 10 pm but night club goers started parking their vehicles here before the scheduled restriction hence forcing the authority to keep the gates open else they come here and create a ruckus," said Satish Kumar, RWA president of Green Park.
He said that there is hardly any police presence during the night. Even large volume of traffic on narrow lane managed by private bouncers having only objective of placing the vehicles at the time of arrival. The night club goers take advantage of this situation and stay till in the morning and consume drugs as well.
INFLUX
The place is highly sensitive considering people from across the NCR cities coming here for enjoyment. A large number of foreign nationals from Europe and Africa also come to the place. The residents claimed that there is hardly anyone from Green Park go at these night clubs. People come from adjoining places of Haryana and Uttar Pradesh were by and large responsible for ruckus. "Due to the nuisance created by club goers, the RWA has completely restricted entry on the road coming from Safdarjung Enclave. Now, there is only one entry from Green park area and we cannot close it", Kumar said.
