From bit to big

Following Aishwarya Rai's footsteps, actor Radhika Apte will portray the character of Binodini, the beautiful widow protagonist of Rabindranath Tagore's Chokher Bali. Apte will bring alive Binodini on the small screen in a series that's being directed by Anurag Basu. She has been around for nearly a decade but has mostly been seen in bit roles in Hindi and regional language fi lms. It seems the 29-year-old actress may have fi nally scored the project that will get her noticed. She will also be seen in Sriram Raghavan's Badlapur and Ketan Mehta's Manjhi: The Mountain Man, also starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui.
