Continuing with its onslaught on the Bhartiya Janata Party-led government in Maharashtra, Shiv Sena has yet again slammed the party over the issue of loan waiver for farmers.

In an editorial written in party mouthpiece 'Saamana', Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray even questioned the BJP asking whether it has any "real farmers" in its ministry.

The hard hitting editorial says, "The shutdown during the farmer strike has been a great success. Senior farmer leaders came together putting aside their differences. The trick of "divide and rule' did not work. And the farmers unity made the government sweat."

WINNING ELECTION EASY: SHIV SENA

Attacking Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis over his stand of talks with a select group of farmers, the editorial says, "Conspiracies do not succeed every time. Some things are to be taken seriously. It is easy to win elections from panchayat to municipal corporation. If you have money and power, you can win elections even on the moon. But that doesn't mean that people are your slaves."

Uddhav Thackeray has also warned the BJP against being vindictive for farmers. "If you can spend millions on winning elections and grabbing power, why do you cry when it comes to farmers' loan waiver?" questioned Uddhav.

"The chief mhas taken a stand that henceforth they will hold talks only with "real farmer leaders', we welcome that. But then we also have a piece of advise. Let the "real farmers" in your Cabinet discuss with the "real farmers". Do you have any "real farmers in your Cabinet"? Then you don't have the right to talk about farmers' welfare." the editorial says.
