After Ryan, another Delhi school horror: Class 1 student molested by housekeeping staff in Malviya Nagar

Close on the heels of the recent incident where a student was brutally murdered in the premises of Ryan International School in Gurgaon, yet another shocking incident from a public school has come to light from the national capital.

A Class 1 student was allegedly sexually assaulted by housekeeping staff at the Sant Nirankari Public School in Malviya Nagar.

The incident took place when the student went to washroom and called for the female attendant, who was not present there. The accused Rakesh, however, heard her and went inside the washroom.

The accused allegedly touched the student inappropriately. The incident came to light after the scared girl went home and told her parents about it.

The accused has been arrested and remanded in judicial custody.

Less than a month ago on September 8, seven-year-old Pradhuman Thakur - a class two student of Gurgaon's Ryan International School - was found dead in the school toilet with his throat slit, shortly his father dropped him.

The murder had triggered a nationwide outrage, prompting the government to order more security and facilities in the schools around the national capital region.

The Delhi government has ordered a magisterial inquiry into the matter.

A team of DCPCR (Delhi Commission For Protection Of Child Rights) will visit the school to conduct an inquiry tomorrow.
