Dreaded gangster and mastermind of Karkardooma court shootout , Mohammad Azeem Ahmed, arrested by the Delhi police today.

The Crime Branch today apprehended gangster Mohammad Azeem Ahmed, who was wanted in the sensational Karkardooma Court shootout and a gruesome murder of a trader in Seelampur, Delhi.
Azeem Ahmed had a reward of Rs 50,000 for the Seelampur murder case.
A semi-automatic pistol, along with three live cartridges, has been recovered from his possession.
In pursuance of his disclosure statement, his associate Naaz has also been arrested.
HOW WAS AZEEM APPREHENDED
On October 20 this year, the police received a tip-off that Azeem would be visiting Farash Khana area in old Delhi.
When the police team tried to stop him, he whipped out a pistol and fired upon the team. The police, however, overpowered him after a brief scuffle.
During interrogation, Azeem revealed that he, and his associates, had robbed a cash van in the Mansarovar Park area in 2013, and he was arrested. While in jail, he came in contact with Naasir, a notorious gangster. After coming out of jail in 2014, Azeem started looking after the activities of the Naasir gang.
Mohammad Azeem and his associates were engaged in the extortion activities from the traders/builders in East, North East, Central and North Delhi.
THE INFAMOUS KARKARDOOMA COURT FIRING
On December 23 last year, an indiscriminate firing on an under trial prisoner in police custody took place inside Karkardooma Court premises. The firing killed a Delhi Police head constable and injured three persons, including the under trial prisoner.

While the police arrested four juveniles from the spot and later apprehended five others, the mastermind Mohammad Azeem Ahmed had been absconding.
Azeem was also involved in another horrific case of a murder of a trader in Seelampur, Delhi.
MURDER OF TRADER IN SEELAMPUR
In May 2016, Azeem and his associates dragged out a trader from his office in Seelampur and brutally shot him dead. They also took away the licensed revolver of the victim.
The incident had created fear and panic among the residents, and it was a means of enforcing supremacy by Azeem's gang, as the murder was fallout of satta operations.
Sensing the gravity of the case, a dedicated team of Crime Branch was put to task.
