Cyclone Vardah has now weakened into a depression, says NDMA; Chennai airport resumes operations
Flight operations have also resumed at Tirupati Airport after they were temporarily suspended due to cyclone Vardah. Death toll has gone up to 10 in Tamil Nadu.

Cyclone Vardah's activity over north Tamil Nadu has moved further west-southwestwards during the past 6 hours at a speed of 20 kmph, and now weakened into a depression, says National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA).
Flight operations have resumed at Tirupati Airport after it was temporarily suspended due to cyclone Vardah that hit Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh yesterday. Chennai airport, where flight operations were yesterday suspended in the wake of cyclone Vardah, is now operational.
Death toll due to cyclone Vardah has gone up to 10 in Tamil Nadu. Four people were killed in Chennai, 2 in Kancheepuram, 2 in Tiruvallur, 1 in Villupuram and 1 in Nagapattinam, according to NDMA.

In Andhra Pradesh, NDRF teams are engaged in carrying out relief operations in areas affected by cyclone Vardah.
Meanwhile, DG of NDRF RK Pachnanda has said that the situation is being monitored closely and efforts are on to restore normalcy as soon as possible.
