The software has already been used by Maharashtra, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Gujarat and Punjab police.

"We have seen a sharp increase in digital crime and there are no boundaries on the Internet. Scanning data on the virtual world is a mammoth task but this software can help us zero in on specific users and track a particular group of people," said a senior Delhi Police officer.

INTELLIGENCE GATHERING ONLINE

Explaining the salient feature of the programme, Sinha said, "I have been seeing security agencies struggling to get information on the Internet. So I designed this unique software which does social media analysis and intelligence gathering in the digital world."

"This software can even filter criminals and terrorists out from a crowd of million users and cops can then keep a watch on them. The software is being customised as per the demand of the state police," said Sinha who took one year to develop the software and is exclusively available for law enforcement agencies.

The software can be extremely useful in checking abusive content and social media stalking and fake profiles.

According to Sinha, the software can be accessed by the cops even on their mobile so it can help them during live raids and tracking.
