Curfew in Hazaribagh after communal violence, shops and vehicles torched

Incidents of violence and arson were also reported in other parts of the town, including Boddom Bazar Gowaltoli, Panch Mandir Chowk and Kud locality, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Kumar said, adding that 20 shops were torched.
Stones were pelted at police trying to control the situation and several policemen were injured, he added.
Over a dozen shops and several vehicles were set ablaze by mobs. So far, one casualty has been reported.
According to police, the situation is now under control and patrolling has been intensified.
Meanwhile, the curfew imposed in Bokaro was lifted on Monday. The curfew had been imposed on April 15 after communal violence.
