Rajiv Gauba to be next home secretary, replaces Rajiv Mehrishi

In a bureaucratic reshuffle, the appointments Committee of the Cabinet on Wednesday appointed Rajiv Gauba as the new home secretary, who will replace the incumbent Rajiv Mehrishi whose tenure completes on August 30th.

Gauba, a 1982 batch Jharkhand cadre lAS officer, is at present secretary at the Ministry of Urban Development.

The appointments Committee of the Cabinet has appointed 16 secretaries for various central government departments.

While a 1993 batch IAS officer, Subash C Garg, who is executive director, World Bank will join Department of Economic Affairs as secretary.

Yudhvir Singh Malik, a 1983 batch lAS officer, and presently chairman of the National Highways Authority of India has been appointed as secretary in the ministry of road transport.
