When Tarsem Masih went to the banks of the Ravi river near Punjab's Gurdaspur this morning, he spotted a boat - a boat important enough to become the object of a Border Security Force investigation.

For this sky-blue vessel bore the symbols of the Pakistani flag, and this message: "Property of Manj Agro Farms, Kasar, Narwal, Pakistan,Manager Mohd Sajid ID 03431237545,042 36666195."

What's more, the find came ahead of the anniversary of the 2016 terrorist attack in Pathankot: January 2.

BSF sources told India Today they seized the boat in Dharmkot Pattan area in the Dera Baba Nanak Sector, located 40 kms from Gurdaspur.

The BSF is working to determine how it reached India.

The force is taking no chances - the terrorists involved in the Pathankot attack also chose the course of the Ravi river to reach their destination.
