BJP's Jagruti Patel wins Bhandup by-election

BJP's Jagruti Patel today won the Bhandup by-election held for BMC.

Yet another victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) after its candidate Jagruti Patel won the by-election for the ward no 116 of BMC in the Bhandup by-election.

The by-election was conducted after the post of the corporator was left vaccant following the death of Congress corporator Pramila Patil.

The Congress leader died after she suffered a cardiac arrest on April 25.

The crucial Bhandup election was held on Wednesday. It assumes prominence as both the BJP and Shiv Sena were aggressively campaigning for it.

While the Shiv Sena fielded Minakshi Patil, the Congress had Pramila Singh as its candidate.

In a similar development, another candidate from BJP, Sandeep Gavai, won the Nagpur Municipal Corporation's by-election from ward number 35-A.
