  • The BJP's padyatra will conclude in Thiruvananthapuram on Oct 17.

The Bharatiya Janata Party today attacked the CPM again for the political killings in Kerala. The party has been organising a padyatra through 11 out of 14 districts of the state since October 3. The yatra will conclude in a mega rally in state capital Thiruvananthapuram on October 17 that will be addressed by party chief Amit Shah.

"Kerala hasn't been an electorally successful state for us. Despite that, our party and RSS workers have been toiling there. Congress and Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) party workers have been attacked there too. The real objective of CPM is that one who is opposed to its ideology must be contained through violence", said Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, who has just returned from Thrissur in Kerala after participating in the saffron march.

"The lotus has the right to bloom in Kerala. Let the people decide", he said in a press conference in Delhi.

On allegations made by CPM general secretary Sitaram Yechury over reports of rift within the BJP and its ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on issues of economy, Prasad trained his guns directly at Yechury. "What about personal rivalry between Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury? How was Yechury's bid to return to the Rajya Sabha scuttled?", the minister enquired.

RAVI SHANKAR PRASAD MOCKS RAHUL's TEMPLE TOURS IN GUJARAT

Ravi Shankar Prasad did not spare Rahul Gandhi either. He mocked the Congress vice-president's temple tours in Gujarat. When questioned about the his tweet quoting poet Dushyant Kumar about the state of hunger in the country, Prasad saw red. "I would like to know how much Rahul Gandhi knows Dushyant Kumar! I'm a fan. People will want to know how the country stayed hungry under Congress rule", he asked.

Prasad also raised concerns over Congress' allegations that the Election Commission had delayed the announcement of Gujarat election dates because it wanted to give time to the Central and state governments to dole out sops ahead of the model code of conduct kicking in.
