Bengaluru: Former Karnataka minister and Kannada actor's properties on storm water drains face demolition

Former Karnataka Minster Shamanur Shivashankarappa and Kannada superstar Darshan's houses are located at the Ideal homes layout in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

Come Monday and the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagar Palike will begin another demolition drive around West and South Bengaluru. Some of the people whose properties will face the bulldozer is former Minster Shamanur Shivashankarappa and Kannada superstar Darshan.

The Deputy commissioner of Bangalore Urban, V Shankar will be issuing notices to Shivashankarappa and Darshan among others as the land records show that their properties stand on Raja Kaluves or storm water drains.

Their properties are located at the Ideal homes layout in Rajarajeshwari Nagar.

These demolitions are based on the recent survey report submitted by the Joint director of land records which indicated that 63 properties spread over seven acres are build on drains or other public spaces.

BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad whole submitting the report on encroachments has also said that the encroachment clearance drive will gain pace again starting September 26, 2016.
