Bengaluru: Seeking revenge for 'break-up', man gets associate to stab 'ex-girlfriend' thrice in the buttocks

The 32-year-old claims to have been in a relationship with the victim for 8 years, and that they broke up a year ago, police sources told India Today.

A 32-year old Bengaluru cloth business owner, Pramod, was arrested after he allegedly had an associate stab a woman he claims is his ex-girlfriend thrice in the buttocks. Police say he did so to take revenge for being broken up with.

The woman, who works for a private airline, told police she was stabbed by an unknown individual, when she was parking her bike after returning home from her Banaswadi office. Local residents heard her scream, and later took her to hospital.

She has already been discharged.

Two other people, 27-year-old Kumar and 35-year-old Suresh, have been arrested. Police are on the lookout for a fourth person, and have formed special teams to track him down.

Pramod, a resident of Bommanhalli, claims to have been in a relationship with the victim for 8 years, and that they broke up a year ago, police sources told India Today.

He paid Kumar to harrass her, who called her regularly and verbally abused her.

Two days before the stabbing, he allegedly paid Kumar Rs 1,10,000 to physically threaten her. This money was given to another person, who was asked to carry out the deed.

The Cottonpete police are investigating the case under IPC section 307.
