On the eve of the International Yoga Day, Yoga Guru Ramdev dedicated this year's celebrations to Indian farmers. He said that being a farmer's son, he knows the hardships that a farmer and his family bears. He said, "The Indian farmer is going through a very tough time, the government should do everything to help. I have decided to dedicate this year's International Yoga Day to the Indian farmer."

On International Yoga Day, the PM will lead yoga celebrations in Lucknow and Ramdev in Ahmadabad. Lakhs of farmer across the country will mark the day performing the shavasana, known as the 'corpse pose' to signify the ensuing agrarian crisis.

Ramdev further added that Madhya Pradesh, the current epicentre of farmer protest, has actually been one of the most robust agrarian economies and it is the Congress that fueled the farmer unrest. However, he added that the CM should give in to the demands of loan waiver to the farmers. He said, "Shivraj Singh Chauhan should listen to the famers and give in to the demands of a loan waiver."

Speaking to yoga disciples at the India Today Mediaplex, Ramdev credited PM Narendra Modi for making a International Yoga Day a reality. He said, "Yoga represents the Indian culture and our PM has made yoga international with its epicentre in India."

Speaking about the virtues of yoga, the yoga guru talked about how BJP party president has shed a considerable amount of weight by practicing yoga and Yogi Adityanath get his stamina and vigour as he is a true yogi.

On a lighter note, he dispensed some yogic advice to political leaders like Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejrwial. "Rahul Gandhi could learn patience from breathing exercise anulom vilom also the shoulder stand will help him centre his mind. Arvind Kejriwal could learn to meditate to rid himself of a persecution complex."

To mark the International Yoga Day, Ramdev said he has planned to launch 10,000 patanjali wellness institutes globally to popularise the practice. Morever, in collaboration with the Gujarat government, Ramdev hopes to create a new world record this year on yoga day. He said, "The aim is to set a new world record for the highest number of people performing yoga at one place."
