Jaipur: Top anti-terror officer, woman found dead inside SUV

Bodies of a top Rajasthan Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) officer and a woman were found inside a car near Jaipur on Thursday (December 22). Police found the bodies of Additional SP Ashish Prabhakar and a woman inside an SUV parked on the Mahal road at Shivdaspura, some 30 km from the state capital. The woman is yet to be identified.

Police said that both were killed by gunshots fired from Prabhakar's service revolver.

HOW THE INCIDENT UNFOLDED:

The police control room received from Prabhakar's mobile phone around 7 in the evening that a woman was lying dead inside a car.

When a police team reached the spot, it found Prabhakar's body on the driver seat of the SUV. The woman was found lying on the police officer's lap. Police is yet to ascertain the identity of the woman.

Some empty beer cans were also found inside the vehicle.

DCP Manish Aggarwal told India Today that when the police team reached the spot it found the car locked from inside.

"Two bullets were fired from Ashish's service revolver. The police is exploring multiple angles, including that of suicide. Their phone call details are also being examined," Aggarwal said.

According to sources, Prabhakar ran a civil services coaching institute and the woman was a student there and added that there was an affair between the two.
