Commenting of BSP supremo Mayawati, he said that there's an elephant standing near Delhi for nine years and sitting in Lucknow. Akhilesh said, "Mayawati loves cash. All those who left the BSP have said that they did not have the amount of money Mayawati was demanding in lieu of a party ticket."

In Aligarh, Akhilesh shared the stage with Padma Bhushan awardee poet Gopaldas Neeraj. Although the chief minister did not name him during his speech, Neeraj did praise Akhilesh and said that judging from his diligence, he was sure that Akhilesh would again be elected UP CM. Neeraj added, "When the Samajwadi Party government is formed again, all internal disputes would be resolved."

He made it clear that he was not dissatisfied with Akhilesh for not giving a party ticket to his daughter Kundanika Sharma from Agra (North) seat. Neeraj added, "I will continue to support Akhilesh and the Samajwadi Party, even though my daughter is contesting the election as an Independent candidate."
