Andhra Pradesh: Excise department official caught slapping petrol pump staff in Puducherry's Yanam

In an incident that brings to the fore another example of VIP high-handedness, a senior officer of the Andhra Pradesh Excise Department slapped two employees at a petrol pump allegedly for delay in filling fuel to his car in Yanam, Puducherry on Andhra Pradesh border on Wednesday.
According to reports, Kurnool Excise department Superintendent Y. Adi Narayana was on his way from Amalapuram to Kakinada on a private visit with his family when his driver stopped at an IOCL petrol pump for fuel.
When the officer's car stopped at the pump, two more cars also arrived at almost the same time, leaving the pump employee refuelling cars confused about whom to attend to first.
Sasi Varma began refuelling one of the cars, which allegedly arrived after the officer's car. Agitated over this, Adi Narayana picked up an argument with the pump employee and later slapped him twice.
It is alleged that the Andhra Pradesh government officer also slapped another employee, identified as Rama Murthy, who was trying to intervene and pacify him. The entire brawl was captured in the CCTV of the pump.
Later, the station manager alerted the police about the incident. The police allowed Narayana to leave after he apologised for his behaviour.
