The meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and YSR Congress President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has triggered a fresh war of words between the ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the YSR Congress, which is in the Opposition.

The YSR Congress alleged that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been feeling insecure ever since Reddy, the Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly, met Modi, and that he's making false allegations against him.

"Chandrababu Naidu telling that the meeting has been kept a secret has no meaning, as our leader had said the sequence of events after receiving the confirmation of the meeting with the Prime Minister," said senior party leader Botsa Satyanarayana

He said Naidu had been posing "childish questions" without "speaking his mind out."

"For those who are in public life, we will have issues to discuss with the Prime Minister if they are not addressed at (the) state level" Satyanarayan added.

PRESIDENTIAL POLL

On the upcoming presidential election, the YSR Congress leader said: "On the President's election issue, every party needs to have a stand and we have our own."

"Being the NDA coalition partner and giving issue-based support are two different issues," he said.

Brushing aside the allegation of an alleged deal with Bhartiya Janata Party, Satyanarayana said the details of what was discussed during the meeting between Reddy and Modi could be obtained from the Prime Minister's Office.

The TDP (which is in the NDA) is spreading such rumours to dent the Opposition party's image, he claimed.
