Will the two AIADMK factions come together to unite the party? That's the questions on everyone's mind, and the answer to it will be revealed in the time to come, as Tamil Nadu's political drama continues play to out.

Both the factions have expressed their interest in reuniting the party and 'doing justice' to Jayalalithaa's memory, but the terms put out by O Panneerselvam and E Palanisami hint that merger will be a tough task.

The bone of contention lies in the chief ministerial post and key portfolios that come with it, considering both leaders want these for themselves.

The balance currently hangs in favour of the Panneerselvam camp, considering one of their demands -- the removal of VK Sasikala and family from key AIADMK posts -- has already been met.

Here's a look at the terms and conditions put forth by the Panneerselvam and Palanisami camps:

OPS camp

#1 Removal of VK sasikala and TTV Dinakaran from the party's key posts and governance

#2 Complete probe into Jayalalithaa's death, including handing over investigation to CBI if needed

#3 The chief ministerial post should go to Panneerselvam and portfolios such as Finance, PWD and Power should to be given to the OPS camp.

This one of OPS' most important terms, as the centre has communicated to Tamil Nadu leaders that if they elect OPS as chief minister, they will be spared of IT raids.

EPS CAMP

#1 Palanisami has to be retained as chief minister, and AIADMK general secretary post can be held by Panneerselvam

#2 Portfolios of present ministers have to be retained, and OPS camp MLAs can be given the additional portfolios held by Palanisami

#3 Palanisami gets to keep the portfolios of PWD and highways.

Palanisami has been in charge of Highways for more than a decade, and there's speculation that will not agree to give away the plum portfolio.
