AIADMK merger plans have been derailed mainly due to uncertainty of support of MLAs to either of the three camps.

The stage is set for yet another show of strength in Tamil Nadu to stir the power corridor- this time by expelled AIADMK (Amma) deputy secretary TTV Dinakaran.

Today, he is scheduled to hold rally at 5pm in Madurai's Melur district along with the MLAs who stand in support with him in hope to grab the power straddle in the state.

While announcing plans for his massive rally, TTV Dinakaram also asserted that he will 'expose' Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami' today.

'SUPPORT OF AT LEAST 20 MLAs'

According to reports, Dinakaran boasts of support from 16 MLAs out of 233 and is expecting some more to join him on stage today. Dinakaran's family said, "We have information that at least 20 MLAs will come for our meeting."

TTV Dinakaran needs minimum 15 MLAs on his side to breathe back life into his political aspirations.

PANNEERSELVAM MEETS PM MODI

Meanwhile, O Panneerselvam met Prime Minister Narendra Modi today and discussed the hurdles he would face if the two factions of the AIADMK merge.

AIADMK merger plans have been derailed mainly due to uncertainty of support of MLAs to either of the three camps.

THE NUMBER GAME

As TTV Dinakaran claims support of 16 MLAs, Pannerselvam has 10 MLAs and E Palaniswami has the support of 107 MLAs. It takes a majority of 118 MLAs in the legislative assembly to form the majority. If MLAs choose to jump to the Dinakaran camp dropping EPS' numbers, then an AIADMK merger is inevitable.

Recently, TTV Dinakaran, after receiving news of his removal, had called Palaniswami a cheat and added that only general secretary Sasikala could remove him from his post.
