Andhra court sends medicos to jail for ragging

In a first-of-its-kind verdict, a Vijayawada court has sentenced three MBBS students to one-year imprisonment for ragging.

The villainous trio had severely ragged their juniors at Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada in 2007.

N. Venkata Chalapati, C. Ram Prasad and M. Suresh are presently house surgeons at the medical college's general hospital and are in the last leg of their MBBS course.

On July 19, 2007, they ragged first year dental students in their hostel. The victims had lodged a complaint against them.
