Kannur: After SFI leader filed a complaint to the CM and the DGP against BJP state president Kummanam Rajashekharan over circulating a fake video on social media and trying to bring in an atmosphere of hatred, the leader stood firm on his stand and said the video is that of CPM men celebrating Biju’s death.
Kummanam said the video released by him was not fake and is the celebrations by the CPM men over the death of Biju. He reiterated his stand and said he is ready to court arrest over the issue.
SFI Kannur district president Muhammed Siraj alleged that the fake video was meant to instigate hatred and weaken the CPM. Kummanam is attempting to bring political schism between the two parties, he alleged.
Chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan told the Assembly yesterday that if need be, Kummanam may be booked over the fake video. The SFI complaint and CPM district secretary P Jayarajan’s complaint too earlier on the matter needs introspection.
It is learnt that before releasing the video, Kummanam had not held any consultations with BJP party activists in Kannur. A faction of the party is displeased over this. Minutes after the video went on air, some felt if the men seen in the video were celebrating the death of RSS man Biju or are really CPM men is still anybody’s guess.
