Trains on Thrissur-Shornur route delayed due to engine failure

Vadakancherry: Trains plying on the Thrissur - Shornur route were disrupted on Tuesday morning after an engine failure was reported in the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Express train.

Trains going towards the Southern side are delayed indefinitely.

The engine of the Chennai-Thiruvananthapuram Express (12623) failed at about 5.20 am immediately after it passed the Vadakancherry station. Following this, trains going towards South from Palakkad and Shornur were held up in different stations. The engine has been repaired and trains have started plying normally.

Bengaluru-Kanyakumari Island Express (16526), Chennai-Alapuzha Express (22639), Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram Janshatabdi Express (12081), New Delhi - Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express (12626), Nizamudhin-Ernakulam Mangala Express (12618), Amritsar-Kochuveli Express (12484) were the trains that were delayed.

Trains going towards North from Thrissur are running on time.
