Kozhikode: Mahija, mother of Jishnu Pranoy, a student at Pambai Nehru Engineering college who allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself inside his hostel room, has sought a CBI probe into her son's death.
Mahija said that she will submit a letter to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan in this regard.
Mahija alleged that the government is not taking action against those who sabotaged the case, as an act of vengeance for conducting an agitation in front of the DGP's office.
"The government has not kept its promises. I will submit a letter to the Chief Minister soon seeking a CBI probe into Jishnu's death. If my complaint is not redressed, I will approach the High Court,” she said.
Jishnu's relatives had met DGP TP Senkumar last month seeking a CBI probe into Jishnu's death. The police had assaulted Jishnu's mother Mahija and others while they were attempting to see former DGP Loknath Behera. Mahija then launched an indefinite hunger strike against the police action. Though the agitation ended on an assurance given by the Chief Minister, Jishnu's relatives had alleged that the Chief Minister did not keep his word.
