The court also denied bail to Vatsakumar and Govindan, the 5th and 7th accused in the case. The 6th accused Sukumaran was the only one who was given bail. The prosecution argued that if bail is granted, then the accused, who is an influential person, could destroy the evidences.

The case relates to Krishnadas beating up Shaheer Shaukat Ali, an LLB student of the college. Krishnadas is also an accused in the death of Jishnu Prannoy, a student of Nehru Engineering college.

The court while hearing the bail plea of Krishnadas, also flayed the police action.

Meanwhile, self-financing colleges in the state are closed today as a mark of protest towards the arrest of Krishnadas. The management associations has stated that if the issue is not resolved at the earliest then they would be forced to go into an indefinite strike.
