Ottappalam: A dead cockroach has been found in a sealed liquor bottle sold out from a Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) outlet here today.
Two Shoranur-natives bought the bottle from the outlet paying Rs 220. As soon as they noticed the dead insect, they ringed up the number displayed on the bottle’s wrap.
However, they did not get a satisfactory reply from the person on the other end of the phone.
Following this, a representative of the liquor brand visited them personally and offered upto Rs 5,000 as compensation.
Though the company representative said it was caused due to ‘carelessness’ during the manufacturing process, the Shoranur-natives are preparing to move the Consumer Court.
