Kottyampoil (Kannur): A BJP worker died after a bomb exploded inside his house here on Saturday night.
The deceased has been identified as Dikshith (24), son of Pradeepan and Manjula (late) of Ponnambalath house near Kolakkavu in Kottayampoil.
Dikshith alone was present in the house when the explosion took place.
In the impact, the window panes and doors were totally damaged. The walls also suffered damages.
The sound of the blast was heard across several kilometers. As the neighbours and local residents reached the spot, Dikshith had succumbed to the injuries.
The body has been shifted to Thalassery Indira Gandhi Cooperative hospital. A police team headed by Kathiroor principal sub-inspector Surendran Kalyadan is camping in the area.
