Thiruvananthapuram: The `A’ Group has bagged a big win in the KSU state elections and K M Abijith was elected as the president.
Abijith was elected as the KSU president by defeating I Group candidate V P Abdul Rasheed by 1976 votes. Abijith secured 2774 votes while Abdul Rasheed obtained 798 votes. Candidates from the second position onwards will be considered for the vice-presidents posts.
Abijith is chairman of Calicut University Union and KSU state general secretary.
All those who were appointed as vice-presidents belong to I Group. Abdul Rasheed, Basheer Pallivayalil, Rinku Padipurayil, Sneha S Nair and Srelal will become the vice presidents.
