Visitors throng cricket exhibition at Regional Science Centre and Planetarium

Untold cricket tales of India and Australia are on show.

KOZHIKODE: The untold tales of the cricketing history of India and Australia and the relations between both the countries have come alive at the Regional Science Centre and Planetarium here. The exhibition titled 'Cricket Connects' has reached here after the show at the Sydney cricket ground. The show, drawing on a range of archival sources and images, also has interactive kiosks which showcase the videos related to both countries' cricketing ties, scoreboards of all matches between India and Australia and one to conduct quiz on Indo-Australian cricket for three teams at a time.

The controversies in the cricket between both countries and the relations between politics and cricket are also part of the exhibition. "The new generation watches cricket, but does not know about the rich history and legacy behind it. This exhibition will help us to go deep into those unknown facts and to have a better understanding about the game," opined T. Hindhshan and M.K. Shihaz, students from the city who visited the exhibition.

The exhibition, developed by Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai, will also tour other science centres. " It is getting good response from the public. We are also planning to showcase it at M. Chinnaswamy stadium, Bengaluru during the India-Australia Test match scheduled to be held in March first week," added Planetarium Director V.S. Ramachandran. The expo, inaugurated by BCCI Vice-President T.C. Mathew, will conclude on February 28.
