'Dream On': Kurt Busch's wedding singer shocked party

CHARLOTTE – The NASCAR season hasn’t begun, and Kurt Busch has jumped ahead in the name dropping game.

Busch and Ashley Van Metre were married earlier this month, and the entertainment at their wedding reception was top of the line – as in Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Steven Tyler, frontman for Aerosmith.

Busch said he used his connections with Monster Energy Drink – his long-time sponsor and NASCAR’s new one – to sign Tyler for the wedding.

“It was epic,” Busch said. “I’m still on that cloud enjoying it with my wife, Ashley. I wanted it as a surprise for everybody. We had a curtain in front of the stage, and when the curtain dropped and they started, everybody said, ‘That’s an awesome tribute band.’ Halfway through the first song, people rushed the stage, and it turned into a full-on rock concert.”
