Forward Andre Ayew said Ghana will not be seeking revenge when they face Egypt in their last African Nations Cup Group D game, adding that his side will treat Wednesday's clash as a preparation for the quarter final.
Already-qualified Ghana booked a last-eight berth following two 1-0 victories over Uganda and Mali while Egypt collected four points from two matches and only need a draw against the Black Stars to join them in the knockout phase.
Egypt defeated Ghana 2-0 in the World Cup qualifiers last November to take a giant stride towards reaching the world's most prestigious showpiece for the first time since 1990 but Ayew played down any rivalry with the Pharaohs.
"We don’t have any rivalry with Egypt," Ayew told Ghanasoccernet on Tuesday.
"We set out to qualify and we have. We are going to try and prepare and play them. The difference between us and them now is we know we are in the quarter-finals.
"We are going to use their game to prepare for the quarter-finals."
Ghana are leading Group D with six points, two points ahead of second-placed Egypt.
