"It was reported that (the construction of the overpass) was completed in downtown Bandung at a cost of only Rp30 billion. That is why I want to see it personally. If this is successful, several others should be built in other places," Kalla stated.
The vice president was accompanied by Public Housing and Public Works Minister Basuki Hadimuljono, Vice Governor of West Java Deddy Miswar, and Bandung Mayor Ridwan Kamil.
Using Corrugated Mortarbusa Pusjatan technology, the construction of the overpass took only six months, and the cost was only 30 percent of a conventional one, he remarked.
The overpass is located in the sub-districts of Kiaracondong and Batununggal, and its construction began in June 2016.(*)
