Virender Sehwag tweets in Tamil, supports Jallikattu

Virender Sehwag has come forward in support of Jallikattu. Sehwag, who is known for his trademark style on Twitter, put his message across in a special way. The former Indian cricketer tweeted in Tamil and requested people to keep peace.

People across Tamil Nadu took to streets to protest against animal rights activists who are seeking ban for Jallikattu. The government, however, has issued an order for holding Jallikattu. The protesters now want permanent ordinance so that the annual sport is held without any hindrance in future.

Sehwag in Tamil tweeted, ”It entails a great respect for the wonderful people of Tamil Nadu. Keep the peace. Regards. I convey my love and admiration for the people who won. I pray for your peace and security.” Also Read- Jallikattu from a bull’s eyes: The untold story of a silent beast

Meanwhile, the Centre on Tuesday told the Supreme Court that it would withdraw its 2016 notification allowing the bull taming sport in Tamil Nadu in view of the fresh legislation, passed by the state assembly, on the issue, reported PTI.
