PETA is also protesting against Jallikattu and has accused Suriya of using the controversy to promote his film, Singam 3.

Jallikattu protests to not affect Suriya’s Singam 3 release; confirms producers

The Jallikattu protests have gained momentum ever since Tamil actors have extended their support to it. Superstar Suriya has also vehemently extended his support to the cause that believes the ban on the practise must be lifted since it hampers their cultural beliefs. The massive state-wide protests created a tension like situation in the city and fans of Suriya are fearing that his upcoming film Singam 3 will hit the silver screens or not. The most awaited actioner is slated for release on Januray 26 and with Jalikattu protests taking fierce shape, the chances of the release getting postponed are likely to be high.

But the makers come forward to clear the air and rubbish all rumours around the film’s release date. They took to twitter to confirm that Suriya’s Singam 3 will released on the promised date. (ALSO READ: Jallikattu row: Kamal Haasan tweets video of cop setting auto on fire! Questions authorities)

Singam 3 has also undergone a change in the title from S3 to C3. The film was originally planned to release on December 16. The project got postponed to release on January 26 after cyclone Vardah’s absolute carnage. PETA is also protesting against Jallikattu and has accused Suriya of using the controversy to promote his film. Suriya condemned PETA’s move and issued a legal notice to them. With Singam 3, Suriya is collaborating with director Hari for the fifth time. (ALSO READ: Suriya’s ‘SI3’ postponed again)

Singam 3 also stars Anushka Shetty, Shruti Haasan and Thakur Anoop Singh, the film has music by Harris Jayaraj.
